New Patients at Back In Care Chiropractic

Welcome to Back In Care Chiropractic. We’re glad you’re here! As we know you’re busy, we always seek to run on time. You don’t have to wait to get the natural healthcare you need.

Doc greeting patientsWhen you come in for your first appointment, our chiropractic assistant will welcome you. You will then be asked to complete a double-sided form. You also can download it from our website and fill it out in advance to save time. Then you will be taken to a consultation room to meet with our Chiropractor Dr Ron Zukerman. He will go over your history to find out more about what has brought you in.

If you would like to proceed with an exam, he will take you to a different room for the examination and various assessments. Dr Zukerman (Chiropractor) will determine if you require any additional tests or checks. If required, you likely then will get X-rays taken afterwards at a location just down the street. These are bulk billed. Next, you will make an appointment for your second visit with our chiropractor. Please allow 30-40 minutes for your first appointment.

When you come in for your second appointment to our clinic, we will initiate the session with an explanation so you can understand the cause of your problem, your X-rays, our chiropractor’s report and recommendations. Dr Zukerman (Chiropractor) will talk you through the entire diagnosis and care plan allowing you sufficient time to fully understand the details of the approach. A first adjustment may also be performed during this visit.

Allow about 30-40 minutes for the second appointment.

When appropriate, adjustments in accordance with your plan will be performed. These can be scheduled to fit in with your working or personal schedule so that you can make the most of your time without affecting your health.

If you have additional questions outside these times, you can email your queries to Dr Zukerman at DrZ@BackInCare.com.au or telephone the clinic and the doctor will call you back at an appropriate time.

Review Visits

At each visit to Back In Care Chiropractic, you will be assessed and you will be able to give feedback regarding your progress or any other matters you may wish to discuss. At about 12 visits, we schedule a longer review visit to assess how the care provided at our Melbourne CBD chiropractic clinic has impacted your condition. You will probably go through all the tests you did during your initial visit to compare the progress from the initial assessment. We will ask you to complete a feedback form at this time.

Based on this review appointment, the care plan may be modified or continued. It’s impossible to predict how favorably you will respond to chiropractic care. Each person is different. We will keep track of your progress with regular evaluations.

It’s possible to experience a relapse of your initial problem if you discontinue your care once you feel better. Many patients, however, choose to continue care to prevent relapses and to keep feeling good.

  • A Brief Reexamination: We’ll perform several of the tests we gave you on your first visit. Doing so will give us a way to compare where you are now in relation to where you were. This retesting is critical for devising a more accurate future care plan.
  • Changing Recommendations: If your progress is confirmed by objective examination practices, we may modify your visit schedule. With the momentum established from the frequent visits during the early part of your care, we can often decrease your visit frequency without sacrificing the progress you’ve achieved.
  • Continuing Care: When many patients begin to feel dramatically better, they’re often tempted to stop their care. Of course, it’s always your choice as to how long you want to benefit from chiropractic care. It’s important to note that you are prone to a relapse if you discontinue care before supporting muscles and ligaments are completely healed. That occurs after symptoms disappear.
